Thomas Macaulay's History of England

Thomas Macaulay was a 19th century historian who wrote a four volume work covering English history at the end of the 17th century. He was a fine orator and this work is a great piece of literature as well as being a good study of this time of change in English history where Parliament is finally established as an equal and occasionally dominant party with the monarchy. This podcast is a Librivox audio version of his great work.
This is a 4 volume study of the History of England in the late 17th century. The volunteers at Librivox are recording this work and adding those recordings to the public domain.

Macaulay's prose is a thing of beauty. It is delightful to read and similarly delightful to listen to. It is, however, an extremely lengthy work and we will need as many volunteers as possible if we are ever able to commit it all to digital audio.
Go to Librivox.org to find out how you can help us to complete this work.

Enjoy!
